Make Funny Face Patterns For Your Halloween Jack-O-Lanterns

This cute and easy to use game takes the guess work out of making funny face patterns for your Halloween Jack-O-Lanterns. You simply drag and drop the silly face parts onto the pumpkin. When you have the silly face just the way you want it just click the print button. Viola... a purr-fect silly face pattern comes out of your printer. Pin or trace the pattern onto your pumpkin, then have an adult cut the pattern out of your pumpkin to make the purr-fect halloween Jack-O-Lantern.

Download Instructions:

  • Click on the download link
  • Choose "Save As" or "Safe Target As" (do not choose run yet)
  • A window opens
  • Choose where on your computer you want to save the game (remember where that is)
  • Click the "OK" or "SAVE" button
  • The game will download to your computer.

How To Play:

  • Go to where you saved the game on your computer.
  • Double click the downloaded file to start the game.
  • There are tiny arrows < & > on the bat's feet.
  • Click those little arrows to move through the game.
  • The rest will be self-explanitory.

NOTE: The printer button is set up to print a pattern for small pumpkins. However, there is a button you can click to create a graphic file (puts it on the clipboard too) so you can open it in any graphic program to print as large... or small as you would like.

How To Make A Jack-O-Lantern:

(Kids, ask an adult to handle the knife and to do the cutting)

  • Download the funny face pattern maker above.
  • Open the funny face pattern maker.
  • Have fun making your funny face pattern.
  • Print your pattern.
  • Cut out the pattern pieces. (kids have an adult help you.)
  • Put some newspaper or a washable table cloth on your work area.
  • Wash your pumpkin so your Jack-O-Lantern won't have a dirty face.
  • Dry your pumpkin, nice and dry with a clean towel.
  • Cut out the top of the pumpkin to make the lid.
  • roll up your sleeves and stick your hands inside the pumpkin and pull out all the seeds and goo.
  • Clean and dry the outside of your gutted pumpkin.
  • Tape the pattern pieces to your pumpkin
  • Use a push pin or small nail to punch little holes, tracing the lines on your pattern. (Kids have an adult help you)
  • Remove the pattern pieces.
  • Take your carving knife and carve out your pumpkin. (Kids have an adult help you)
  • Place a candle inside the pumpkin. (Kids have an adult help you)
  • Place the lid back on the pumpkin.
  • Viola... you have a Jack-O-Lantern!

Wash seeds... set them out on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with a bit of salt and bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until they begin to turn a light brown (Kids have an adult help you). Share them with the adult who helped you and have a good time together talking about Halloween Safety Tips.
